Who does the work

One shop, from the first sketch to the last bolt

Notatek has been making signs in American Fork, Utah since 2009, and the work has run through the same four steps in the same building the whole time. None of it is a partner network or a reseller arrangement: when you approve a drawing, the people who drew it are the people who cut, weld, print and hang it.

  1. 01

    Design

Concept, layout and the drawings a landlord or city will actually accept are done here, by the same people who have to build the thing afterwards.

  2. 02

    Fabrication

Channel letters, dimensional lettering, monument signs, printed vinyl, wraps and apparel are produced in the American Fork shop rather than bought in from a wholesaler and rebadged.

  3. 03

    Permitting & site survey

We pull the measurements and handle the permit set ourselves, which is the step most often handed off — and the step that most often stalls a sign.

  4. 04

    Install & service

Our own crews and equipment go up the lift. That is also why the service call two years later comes back to the people who built it.

The people you’ll work with

  • Keith Johnson

    President & Managing Partner

Keith has led the business through its whole modern chapter, first as President and Managing Partner of SignCity Online and now of Notatek under the rebrand. Keith came into signage from manufacturing engineering, as lead engineer at Tige Boats, which is a large part of why the shop still does its own fabrication and installation instead of brokering it out.

  • Westin Allred

    Sales Executive

Westin works with clients on branding and business development, and came up through the shop as an account manager at SignCity before the rebrand. A bachelor's in marketing from Utah Valley University shows in the approach: the starting question is what a sign is supposed to accomplish, not what it costs to build.

  • Tawna Jones

    Account Manager

Tawna manages accounts out of the Orem side of the business and has been with the company since the SignCity days. Tawna is who clients deal with when a project has a lot of moving parts and someone has to keep all of them straight.

  • Ashton Sanford

    Sales Executive

Ashton has been selling signs here long enough that clients name Ashton in their reviews — one customer describes nearly ten years of working together and the trust built over that time. That relationship is why a fair number of accounts have stayed with the company across the SignCity-to-Notatek rebrand.

  • Heidi Grant

    Purchasing Director & Operations Specialist

Heidi has run purchasing and operations here since 2022, which is the reason the materials for a job are sourced, priced and on the floor before anyone starts building it. Heidi came to Notatek from a partnerships role in edtech and holds degrees in business management and psychology from Utah Valley University — a genuinely useful pairing for work that is half supplier negotiation and half keeping a shop's worth of moving parts in order.

  • James Vreeken

    Technology

James runs technology for Notatek — the website, the digital asset library behind the project galleries, and the systems that keep quoting and production talking to each other.
