First Colony Mortgage — Signage & Branding Project by Notatek
Illuminated exterior signage and custom interior lobby displays for a premier mortgage lender. Our team crafted sleek dimensional logos and architectural branding elements that reflect decades of trust and stability. The cohesive design strengthens brand visibility while creating a welcoming, professional environment for prospective homebuyers.
Notatek produced electric signs for First Colony Mortgage.
A heavy crane and boom lift work together to install a large channel letter sign on the exterior top floor of a modern multi-story office building. Workers in the lift bucket position the signage in place on a clear day above an open parking lot.

Exterior Channel Letters and Interior Lobby Signage
First Colony Mortgage needed primary exterior signage for their multi-story office building and a matching brand mark for the main reception area. The primary challenge was rendering the intricate roofline graphic from their logo into a durable, weather-resistant physical structure. We engineered halo-lit exterior components and precision-cut interior metal to fit both spaces.
Halo-Lit Exterior Building Signage
We fabricated reverse channel letters and a custom aluminum logo mark mounted to the upper exterior brick face. The complex architectural lines of the icon were laser-cut from 3/16-inch aluminum sheet to maintain detail without adding unnecessary weight. Internal IP67-rated LEDs cast a soft white glow against the masonry after dark.
0.090-inch welded aluminum returns with black powder-coated finish
6500K white LED modules with low-voltage power supplies
Threaded stainless steel studs mounted into mortar joints
Interior Lobby Wall and Architectural Glass
Inside the main entryway, we installed a dimensional logo set directly onto the sheetrock behind the reception counter. The lettering uses 1/2-inch solid acrylic faced with brushed aluminum, producing clean edges under directional ceiling spots. Surrounding conference room windows received second-surface frosted vinyl for privacy.
The result
Black metal channel letters mounted flush against red brick.
Brushed aluminum detail standing out under warm lobby spotlights.
A crisp, lit profile visible from the street corner at dusk.
